Technical Officer, Industrial Programs
Sara del Fierro, Technical Officer, Industrial Programs, provides technical expertise on carbon credit project review and verification oversight in the voluntary carbon market as well as the California regulatory market. She focuses on methane capture and destruction projects, including landfill gas and livestock. Sara joined ACR in 2025.
Before joining ACR, Sara was the Climate Change Mitigation Lead at the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service, where she provided technical leadership for the agency's climate-smart agriculture work and supported the development of federal climate strategy, policies and programs, including guiding billions of dollars in historic climate investments and helping launch the Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities opportunity. Prior to that, Sara worked on climate change and conservation in a variety of roles including at the National Wildlife Federation, at the Center for Global Development where she managed a research portfolio on REDD+, and as a Peace Corps volunteer and Fulbright researcher supporting community-based adaptation in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco.
Sara has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Biology and Human Rights from Columbia University and a Master of Environmental Management degree from the Yale School of the Environment.
