team-single

Marissa Kopp, Technical Officer, Forestry, provides technical expertise to support forest carbon offset projects in the California compliance and voluntary markets. She is responsible for reviewing project listing applications, data reporting, verification and the development and approval of new quantification methodologies.

Prior to joining the ACR team, Dr. Kopp explored how soil carbon dynamics changed across time and space in forests. She also examined how landowners make management decisions and taught students how to communicate their science to landowners, managers, and beyond. Her work has culminated in journal articles, book chapters, science curricula, and extensive outreach presentations. She holds a B.S. in Environmental Science and English from Elizabethtown College and a Ph.D. in Ecology from the Pennsylvania State University.

ACR benefits from a responsive, best-in-class team with wide-ranging expertise, including carbon project development, climate policy, carbon market design, carbon credit methodology development, third-party verification, and registry design and operations. We understand the complex technical, market and regulatory issues involved in developing carbon projects and work with asset owners to navigate the process from project registration and verification through to the issuance of carbon credits.

ACR is governed by Environmental Resources Trust LLC, a wholly-owned nonprofit subsidiary of Winrock International. The ERT Board of Managers ensures ACR maintains focus on harnessing the power of markets to improve the environment. View the latest ACR annual report.
